Defining MCAL User Accounts
From Gestaltipedia
The Master corporate accounts list site is a special Gestalt database that works in concert with the main Learfield corporate web site. Because of this, there are two parts to setting up a new seller to enter their calls into the MCAL system. First, let's tackle defining new access privileges in the corporate intranet:
Setting up intranet access
Log into the Learfield corporate web site with an administrator-level account. You'll know you have the right sign-in if, when you log into http://learfield.com/maint, you can see options to modify "User accounts and privileges" in the main menu. Click this link.
The user priveliges tool allows you to define access rights for everybody in the company to have access to see and change resources on the company's intranet and portions of the public site. It has lots of options, but fear not. There's a shortcut to creating a new seller account:
1. Find in the list the account of another seller who you know has similar privileges to the new person you are setting up. This will include all the access rights to get at the MCAL form in the intranet, as well as basic intranet access.
2. Click on the name of the person you want to use as a pattern for your new seller account. 3. When the form comes up, scroll to the bottom of the options, and find the "replicate this user" checkbox. Activate the checkbox, and click the "update" button.
4. When the form reloads, you will see the same account you were working with. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL! Don't change it. Instead, scroll down to the bottom of the user options again. There you will see immediately below the form, a link with your source account's name, plus (replica). Click that link.
5. When the form reloads this time, you should see (replica) in the big name field at the top of the form. Enter the new seller's name here, and define a user name and password for them. Nothing else needs to change. Click "Update", and you're done.
Setting up MCAL system access
Now that the new seller can reach the MCAL form in the company Intranet, we need to define them inside of the actual, separate, Master Corporate Accounts database. Follow these steps:
1. Sign into the MCAL web site as yourself. You should have administrator priveliges here to do this as well.
2. Go to http://mcal.learfield.com/automation in your web browser. This is a landing page for special site maintenance operations. When you get there, click the second link in the Special Tools section, "AE Input Form".
3. Fill out the form with the seller's first name, last name, unique initials, primary selling network (you can add more later), and e-mail address. Then, click "Add AE".
You're done! Your seller should now be able to get into the intranet and add call records to the MCAL system.
